My note On our trip to Indonesia for YJ's project, we met some awesome people in Medan. Within the first few minutes of meeting them, Putra, the director, appeared with a small cup of delicious smelling coffee. A few glances were exchanged and the next thing we knew, coffee was being served all around. It was tasty, and I knew I had to bring some home. Shortly after, Fariz, one of the team members, sent over the name of the roaster and the rest was history. While this isn't the exact one we had, I'm excited to share this one with you. My note Somehow this was the only one that we picked up an extra of, so I've been enjoying this for awhile now. The scent of cacao nibs and tart berries come through, along with a little anaerobic funk. Altitude: 1600 MASL Variety: Lini S Bourboun Processor: Sultani Estate

My note On our last day in Samosir, we visited Insel and got to meet Ronald, the owner of Insel. He has been working with local farmers to showcase their beans and together with his team, they process and roast directly on the island. We had a great time chatting with him and learning about his work. We also got to try some of their coffees and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Altitude: 1480 MASL Variety: - Processor: Insel Coffee
